On the 6th of February 2018, on the occasion of the International Day for Safe Internet, the Department of Social Policy of the Municipality of Aghii Anargiri-Kamatero participated in an Event that was held in the amphitheatre of the Ministry of Subtructures and Transportations by the Greek Centre for Safe Internet and the European Programme Safer Internet4kids.gr, under the anspices of the Ministry of Education.
More specifically, the Director of Social Policy of the Minicipality of A.A.K Mrs Oikonomopoulou Aggeliki presented the campaign against Hate Speech that is held in our city as part of the European project “ Coalition of Positive Messengers To Counter Online Hate Speech, co-funded by the European Commission – Directorate-General Justice. During the Conference the Greek Center for Safe Internet presented their actions and the rest of the presentations focused on the social capacities that youth should have in order to nagivate safely in the internet. Delegates from Ministries, representatives of public and private organisations, professionals of mental health, teachers and students from all over Greece attended the event. Our Municipality was represented by the Deputy Mayor of Social Policy, Mr Pantelias Nikos and employees that participate as Ambassadors for Safer Internet. Moreover, through the initiative of social Policy Department 3 students from schools of our city participate in the 15 member youth panel that aims at sensibilising their fellow students on Safe Internet navigation.
